Hit Mate
Ball machine hire

Privacy policy

Last updated: September 2026

Who we are

Hit Mate (hitmate.online) hires out a tennis ball machine. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you request or manage a hire, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

What we collect

  • Contact details: your name, email address, and phone number, given when you request a booking.
  • Booking details: the location, date, time, and package you choose, and the price.
  • Waiver acceptance record: the timestamp at which you accept the liability waiver, recorded as evidence that you agreed to its terms.
  • Account details (optional): if you sign in via the emailed link, your email address becomes your account identifier, and we save your name, phone number, and preferred location so you don't need to re-enter them on a future booking.

Why we use it

We use your details to process and confirm the booking you've requested, to contact you about it (by email or phone), and to keep an accurate record of who has agreed to the hire terms. This is necessary to provide the service you've asked for, and is our legitimate interest in keeping a reliable booking record and protecting against disputes.

We do not send marketing emails or use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone except the service providers below, who help us run the site.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run Hit Mate, each of whom processes data on our behalf:

  • Supabase — our database and sign-in provider (hosted in the EU).
  • Resend — sends our booking emails (requests, confirmations, cancellations).
  • Vercel — hosts this website.

Cookies

We only use a strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in after you use an emailed sign-in link. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and account records for as long as they're useful for the purposes above, or as required for legal or accounting reasons — including keeping a waiver acceptance record for long enough to be able to demonstrate you accepted it, if that's ever needed. You can ask us to delete your data at any time; see below.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to: give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or move it elsewhere. To do any of these, email us at bookings@hitmate.online. If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the ICO.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
